4. How is DAC different from other student-led arts groups on campus?

duARTS and other arts-related organizations on campus revolve around creating arts programming for students. They organize and host different arts-related events (entry-level workshops, figure-drawing classes, etc.) to encourage Duke students with an interest in the arts to participate.
Duke Artist Collective, on the other hand, is a community first and foremost – a space where student-creatives can come together, share ideas and collaborate. Such a space does not currently exist on campus. We focus on fostering a creative campus culture, creating resources and initiatives in order to enable and support student-creatives. While other arts organizations target the average Duke student, our initiatives aim to help students with a serious desire for creative growth – prior experience or not.
